Moët & Chandon Dom Pérignon 2008 (Magnum)
Moët & Chandon Dom Pérignon 2008 (Magnum) – The most legendary vintage of the 21st century — in the large format that gives wine time.
What is it? Dom Pérignon is the prestige Champagne of Moët & Chandon and one of the most recognised wine labels in the world. Every Dom Pérignon is a vintage Champagne; in weaker years none is produced. The 2008 is regarded by connoisseurs as one of the greatest Dom Pérignons ever bottled — a Champagne of monumental architecture with decades ahead of it.
Where from? Champagne, France. Grand Cru and Premier Cru parcels from Moët’s own estate and selected partner growers. Épernay.
Grapes? Approx. 55% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir. Fermented in stainless steel. Traditional method with second fermentation in bottle. Long lees ageing of at least 8 years. The Magnum format (1.5 L) ages more slowly and develops greater depth.
Tastes like? Nectarine, blood orange, bergamot, smoked stone, white pepper, brioche and dark chocolate. On the palate: dense, powerful architecture with enormous tension and extreme length.
Score? Wine Advocate: 100/100 · Antonio Galloni (Vinous): 100/100 · James Suckling: 100/100 · Wine Spectator: 99/100
