Rotem & Mounir Saouma – Châteauneuf-du-Pape Arioso 2019

CHF 140.00

Rotem & Mounir Saouma – Châteauneuf-du-Pape Arioso 2019 – One of the most exclusive estates in the Rhône Valley — in one of the decade’s finest vintages.

What is it? Rotem & Mounir Saouma are a Lebanese-Israeli couple who acquired a small domaine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the mid-2000s and, through an obsessively quality-driven philosophy, became one of the appellation’s most sought-after micro-producers. The Arioso is their more accessible cuvée — yet production volumes remain microscopic and quality is absolutely uncompromising.

Where from? Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône, France. Old vines (some over 80 years) on sandy soils rich in rounded galets.

Grapes? Grenache dominant (>85%), complemented by Mourvèdre and Syrah. Biodynamic farming. Whole-cluster vinification. Aged in old barriques and foudres.

Tastes like? Red cherries, fresh raspberry, lavender, Provençal herbs, garrigue, orange zest, sandalwood, fine tannins. Silky and lively on the palate.

Score? Wine Advocate: 95/100 · Vinous (Galloni): 94/100 · James Suckling: 95/100
